What we're giving this Christmas
1. The Gift of Wild Time - fun free and good for you!
Yes really. Funky fold up wellies. Invented for festivals, but perfect for impromptu walks in the mud. Alternatively, get some lovely real wellies for your little ones. We love Muddy Puddles wellies & outdoor kit (shown in the pic).
3. Beautiful story books
The polar bear image (top) is by Jackie Morris. Jackie Morris' books are just beautiful. We love her adaptation of Red Riding Hood: Little Evie in the Wild Wood, which sees the girl make friends with the wolf. Wild Swans and East of the Sun & West of the Moon (that the bear is from) are also stunning stories and images.
Katherine Aalto's gorgeous Natural World of Winnie The Pooh is a book about the places in the stories. Perfect for nostalgic adults and the family bookshelf.
4. Cool nature apps
As well as our fun Wild Explorers App, there are other, fun ways of engaging with nature. If you're out exploring in nature, you'll probably find birds the easiest to see. And you'll need to know what it sounds like! Chirp! Bird Song app is ideal. It really works, too.
5. A Wildlife gadget
Our favourite gadget/nature expert - Wildlife Gadgetman - is fun for teens or tots. His ideas about cameras and combining tech with nature are great. He has an e-book, as well as tips on cameras or even making bird feeders shaped like X-Wing Fighters!
6. Urban wildlife books
Because not everyone lives in the countryside, after all! Usborne's Urban Nature Spotter's Guide is fab and great value at £3.99!
7. The book for mum: Free Range Kids
Perfect for mums trying to balance WildTime with school time and family time. A feisty, fun and fast-paced book by Lenore Skenazy, 'America's worst Mom'. (Google her!). We think she's brilliant.
8. A subscription to CountryFile magazine
The magazine that is the perfect companion to Sunday afternoon TV. Ideas, inspiration, great writing and lovely images. We love it - a great gift for yourself and someone else!
10. Membership of Wildlife Watch, Nature Detectives, RSPB, RNLI Storm Force, National Trust - or all!
There are so many amazing organisations out there to give you and your family incredible experiences and times, whether you are into beaches, woods, butterflies or eagles. They are all brilliant and we love them.
